“I was invited to lead the Semear volunteer team, our volunteer program, in 2019. Now, we are supporting Sítio Agar, an institution that shelters young people, adults, and the elderly in situations of social vulnerability. Each year, we help a different social entity, and we always seek to leave a legacy of our work.
With Sítio Agar, it was a little different. We started supporting them in 2020, but the pandemic did not allow face-to-face actions. Therefore, we have continued with them until now, so we can get the job done. During the pandemic, we made remotely donations for the renovation of the bazaar they have to raise funds. In addition to supporting the Sítio, we organized campaigns to collect basic food baskets in partnership with Mesa Brasil, from Sesc, for donation to people who were in a situation of vulnerability on the streets as a result of the pandemic.
Being in the institutions we support is very important. What I feel makes the difference is the attention we give to the people who are there. I think this care, being present, is even more significant than the products we collect and donate.
The first in-person action we carried out at Sítio Agar was the Easter campaign, in 2022, to collect chocolates and toys for children, and products for the institution. These donations contribute a lot, but it is very gratifying to see how children become happy when us there, available to play and give affection. Many of them feel the absence of parents, of a structured family.
As a result, the program has grown. We will have the Semear Day and a program of engagement and sponsorship of leaders, important initiatives to increase recognition of the importance of volunteering for CPFL itself.
For those who, like me, participate these visits provide more than just personal satisfaction. It is a positive feeling to know that we are helping more people to have the opportunities I had to become a CPFL professional.”
